2005 Canada $5 Alberta Centennial Special Edition Proof Silver Coin | .9999 Fine Silver | Royal Canadian Mint

Offered for sale is the beautiful 2005 $5 Alberta Centennial Special Edition Proof Silver Coin, issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Alberta joining Confederation in 1905. Struck in 99.99% pure silver, this limited-edition collector coin celebrates Alberta’s rich history, natural beauty, and economic heritage.

The reverse design, created by Canadian artist Michelle Grant, features a stunning Alberta landscape with the Rocky Mountains, rolling foothills, and prairie stretching into the distance beneath a setting sun. Incorporated into the design are symbols representing three of Alberta’s key industries: oil, cattle, and wheat, all connected by the province’s floral emblem, the wild rose.
